Nala’s Soup

Over the weekend my pup got into some crappy dog food that upset her tummy. To aid her digestion, I made her a lovely homemade soup. It’s very simple and helps with upset tummies in dogs. I also made it for her a while ago when she got a cold.

Nala’s Soup

1 skinless, boneless chicken breast, chopped

3.5 cups of chicken broth

1 cup of white rice (I used jasmine rice)

1 medium sweet potato, chopped

Bring chicken, sweet potato, rice, and chick broth to a boil, then return to a simmer until chicken and sweet potatoes are fully cooked. Make sure to cool before serving to your pup! The final product is thicker than a soup because of the rice, but the moisture really helps keep a sick pup hydrated. This makes several servings for my 40 lb. babe, and I usually end up mixing it with her regular food a couple days later. She loves it!
